Surrogate partner therapy is a touch-based modality that assists clients in building relationship and intimacy skills. This therapy is conducted in a three-way relationship with a surrogate partner, a clinician, and a client. This therapy is used when the client’s goals cannot be achieved through talk therapy alone.

An intensive is a condensed form of surrogate partner therapy in which the surrogate partner and the client meet for extended sessions several days in a row. Intensives are usually done when the surrogate partner and the client are not located in the same geographic area.
Traditional intensives generally take place over the course of one to two weeks. As the name suggests, this is a very intense method, and it is quite emotionally draining for both the client and the surrogate partner, which makes it difficult to reap the benefits beyond a certain point.
Instead, I prefer a middle ground. If a client outside my geographic area would like to work with me, I am apt to suggest mini-intensives as an alternative to traditional intensives. With this format, there are extended sessions for three days and the surrogate partner and client will usually meet on a monthly or quarterly basis.
I am currently available for mini-intensives and I am able to travel anywhere across the country. Please contact me for more information.
